LTC certified in the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS)

The Worldwide Cleaning Association, ISSA, has certified Lincoln Training Center’s building services in the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS).

“The CIMS certification is an opportunity for us to continue our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction,” Caron Nunez, Lincoln Training Center president says. “We will be more efficient, and provide even better building services.”

The CIMS has received official endorsement from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), which has recognized the program as a powerful tool to pre-qualify building services contractors like Lincoln.

and more facility managers, purchasing professionals and others are requesting CIMS in their proposal and cleaning specifications. Many times only CIMS certified organizations are eligible to be awarded a cleaning service contract.

“The CIMS certification will in turn mean more opportunities and more jobs for the adults with disabilities and veterans we serve,” Nunez says.

To become CIMS certified, Lincoln submitted written documentation showing its compliance with the requirements of the Standard. Then an independent, accredited assessor conducted an on-site review of the Lincoln’s systems, processes, and polices to ensure compliance.

Lincoln Training Center began its work in 1964 as small group of parents teaching their children simple production work. Now Lincoln has over 500 clients and serves over 50 worksites throughout California, with offices in San Diego, Roseville, South El Monte, and Fresno. In 2013, Lincoln Training Center added the California State Licensing Board’s C-27 landscaping designation to its General Contractor (class B) license.

For nearly 50 years, Lincoln has provided the independence that comes with employment for thousands of adults with disabilities. Their goal remains constant: to create successful employment partnerships between the business community and persons with disabilities.
