Holiday Time at Lincoln Training Center

March 19, 2018
Holiday Time

As the holiday season kicks into full swing, merchants lure eager shoppers in with promises of happiness and joy that comes from giving and receiving, as gifts are exchanged at holiday gatherings. The festivities of the holiday season are bountiful and bright, with many a meal shared among family and friends.

Here at Lincoln Training Center, staff humbly transforms our facilities into a holiday bazaar, if only for a few hours, for the hundreds of adults with disabilities that we serve throughout the year. For many of our clients, this is the only holiday celebration that they have to look forward to. A large percentage of Lincoln's clients have no family and live in assisted living residences.

Through fundraising and donations, Lincoln has been able to provide the clients with a holiday meal and a gift, often presented by Santa himself. The gifts are not lavish, but are seasonal essentials ranging from rain gear to self-care kits. This year, we would like to present these very special individuals with hooded sweatshirts to help keep them warm during the winter season. With over 600 clients in all, the costs can be overbearing, and with dwindling resources, money is scarce.

This year we are reaching out to our friends in the community to help make this holiday season special for hundreds of adults with disabilities. The smiles and gratitude can be seen from holidays past.

Be a part of this GivingTuesday by contributing to a worthwhile holiday event that may be the only celebration the LTC clients will have this season. All donations are tax deductible.

We thank you for your association with Lincoln Training Center and appreciate your support.

Happy holidays from your friends at Lincoln!
