October is National Disabilities Employment Awareness Month, which gives us the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the talents, skills, and dedication of adults with disabilities in our workforce. A national survey revealed that 92% of consumers feel more favorable toward companies that hire individuals with disabilities, and 87% would prefer to give their business to such companies. Furthermore, according to a study conducted by Business Week, job performance by people with disabilities is equal to or better that their peers without disabilities. Despite these findings, people with disabilities remain one of America’s largest untapped labor resources, with 60 percent of this working-age population unemployed.

Lincoln Training Center’s programs provide people who have disabilities with the skills and training necessary to earn equitable wages, benefits, and greater independence. We are proud to be celebrating 45 years of providing employment opportunities in retail, custodial, food service, production, administrative services, and grounds maintenance.
