Wade Hartmann

After being referred to Lincoln Training Center in February 2002, Wade received training on the use of a variety of landscaping and janitorial equipment. He quickly learned many new job skills and was chosen to be part of a mobile crew that provides services at a number of different locations, including the Naval and Marine Reserve Center in San Pedro, USARC sites in Garden Grove, Van Nuys, and Sherman Oaks, and Caltrans.

Wade has become an expert at the entire process involved in stripping and waxing floors, everything from how to measure the exact proportions for the cleaning solution to operating the wet/dry vac and floor buffer. Thanks to Wade and his crew’s expertise, they were chosen to perform floor stripping and waxing at all the CarMax locations.

According to his Job Coach, Jerry, Wade is a quick learner, always follows instructions carefully, and takes great pride in doing a good job. He also relies on Wade’s help when driving from site to site; with his good sense of direction and knowledge of shortcuts, he considers Wade his “GPS.” Not only is Wade an excellent worker, he is also extremely courteous to Lincoln’s customers, is well liked by his co-workers, and is extremely dependable.

Wade is an avid sports fan, and is especially passionate about his favorite teams, the Dodgers and the Lakers. Wade is extremely proud that he was recently able to purchase his first car. He enjoys visiting his brother who lives in Ventura, with whom he’s very close. Before he bought his car, he would often take the train to visit him for the weekend; he and his brother enjoy spending their time together by going fishing or to see a movie.
